6/365 Playing With Time

Today's design derived from me literally playing with time. I saw a decal yesterday that used a familiar looking serif font, but I couldn't put my finger on the name of it. As I studied the characters I began to imagine what it would look like when displayed symetrically. Once I got to my computer and started experimenting, it didn't take long for these little characters to emerge. The details are all vector shapes and layer effects. It was a fun exercise in typography and character design. I included a "making of" illustration below the image. Enjoy!
